Choosing a veneer clinic in Turkey: ten checks

These checks work for any clinic, including ours. A good clinic will be glad you asked.

Short answer

Check that the clinic is licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health, know the name and registration of the dentist treating you, and get a written plan that says veneer, crown or nothing for every tooth, with the material, price and guarantee. Walk away from a hard sell, a lack of information or pressure to decide quickly.

Ten checks

  1. 1. A licensed clinicLicensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health, and authorised for health tourism if it treats international patients.
  2. 2. A named dentistKnow who will treat you, their qualifications and their registration. The GDC suggests finding out how dentists are regulated in the country you're visiting.
  3. 3. A real examinationPhotos are a start; the final plan should follow an examination and X-ray.
  4. 4. A plan for every toothVeneer, crown, bonding or nothing, in writing. See veneers or crowns?
  5. 5. Reasons for every crownIf a healthy-looking tooth is being crowned, ask why.
  6. 6. Material and laboratoryThe type (for example E-max laminate) and who makes it.
  7. 7. A price with nothing hiddenTotal cost, what's included, and what might be extra.
  8. 8. A try-in before bondingSo you can check shape and shade before anything is permanent.
  9. 9. A written guaranteeWhat it covers, for how long, and what you need to do.
  10. 10. A plan for afterwardsWho to contact if something goes wrong at home, and how it's handled.

Warning signs

The NHS treatment abroad checklist says to think carefully if there is:

  • a hard sell
  • a lack of information
  • pressure to make a quick decision

We'd add: a "free" trip or hotel that only applies if you book today, and a plan that treats every tooth the same way.

Questions to ask

  • Who will treat me, and can I see their registration?
  • For each tooth, what are you doing, and why?
  • How much of each tooth will you remove?
  • Can I see the digital design and a try-in before bonding?
  • What happens if a veneer comes off after I'm home?
  • Can I see the full guarantee terms in writing?

How we answer them

Precious Dental is licensed by the Turkish Ministry of Health and authorised for health tourism. Your plan is reviewed by a named dentist, written down tooth by tooth with the material and price, and our guarantee terms are published online. Our prices are on this page. We're a clinic and we benefit if you choose us, so check us the same way you'd check anyone else.

Common questions

How do I check a clinic in Turkey is licensed?

Ask for its Ministry of Health licence and whether it is authorised for health tourism. Health Türkiye is the Turkish Ministry of Health's official portal for international patients.

Should I choose the cheapest quote?

Compare like with like first. A cheaper quote for crowns isn't comparable with a dearer one for laminate veneers. The NHS advises basing the decision on quality of care, not on how appealing the destination is.

Are online reviews enough?

They help, but read the critical ones too, and look at how the clinic responded. Reviews can't tell you what's right for your teeth; a written plan can.

What should a written plan include?

Every tooth, with veneer, crown, bonding or nothing; the material and laboratory; the total price and what's included; the number of nights; and the guarantee terms.

An honest second look

Not sure what your teeth need?

Send us a few photos of your smile. A dentist looks at them and tells you plainly whether you need veneers, crowns, whitening, bonding, or nothing at all.
